Here’s everything you may have missed in the Iran v Australia 0–4 match.

After nearly a year, we finally saw the return of the Matildas’ Mary Fowler, so a huge welcome back to her!
As soon as the game kicked off, the Matildas showed strong possession, keeping the ball consistently. Within minutes, Australia had a clear opportunity, but the Iranian goalkeeper saved the shot. In the 8th minute, Australia opened the score sheet with a goal from Amy Sayer. This was her first-ever goal in a major international tournament.
Later on, a second goal from Caitlin Foord was unfortunately disallowed. Not long after, Mary Fowler scored a second goal for Australia. Then, just before half-time, Alanna Kennedy scored a third goal.
Sam Kerr also had a goal disallowed before the half-time whistle was blown.
At half-time, unfortunately for Iran, they had 0 shots, while Australia had 14 shots, with 6 on target.
As the second half kicked off, Australia had the same idea of keeping the ball in possession. When they were awarded a corner, they scored again, with Alanna Kennedy getting her second goal of the match and Australia’s fourth.
The Matildas then took the opportunity to make a triple substitution. Unfortunately, towards the end of the match, Australia slowed down due to multiple stops as they tried to build up possession.
And that was the end of the game, with Australia winning 4–0 against Iran.
