McLean Takes Second Victory of 2026 GB4 Campaign

Round 9 saw Josh McLean take his second victory of his GB4 campaign and Demitri Nolan stand on the podium for the first time in his GB4 career.

With the top 10 from the starting grid for Round 7 reversed, Round 9 at Donington Park sees Fox Motorsport’s Jasser Iskander on pole, starting behind him is his teammate Enzo Rujugiro. Then it’s Arden Motorsport’s Solenn Amrouche starting in third with her teammate Michael Koh behind her. Rounding off the top 5 for the starting grid is Pace Performance’s Josh McLean. Four of these five drivers will be looking to have a good race following their retirements in Round 8.
Lights go green and what a start for Iskander, keeping the lead into Redgate. Josh McLean was able to gain two positions now running just behind Rujugiro. Dayton Coulthard spins and collides with the Elite Motorsport of Matan Achituv whose rear wing came off, a massive pile up at the final corner. The cars left stationery where the Elite Motorsports of Del Grosso and Achituv as well as the Douglas Motorsport of Coulthard. Championship leader Alex O’Grady was also involved, making it an unfortunate end to his race. It was also John O’Donnell who retired from the race. Hillspeed’s Connor Willis also got out of his car after his car collided with Achituv causing rear damage to Willis’ car.
Red flags were being waved and Fred Green drove into the pitlane as he had damage to the car. Race control confirmed that the restart would occur with the original grid, with gaps between drivers, it was also announced that Fred Green would restart the race from the pitlane. The drivers started the second formation lap for this round and then it was back to racing and another great start from Jasser Iskander.
Both Josh McLean and Demitri Nolan made up positions on the restart to take second and third. McLean tried to make a move on Iskander and up to first the Pace Performance driver went. Wheel to wheel went Iskander and Nolan, exceptional progress for the Hillspeed driver who started in P6 and got up to P2.
Off into the gravel went the Scorpio Racing car of Romauld Bocquet and the Pace Performance of Torrin Byrne, the incident triggering a safety car deployment.
Back to green we go and side by side Nolan and McLean go as Demitri Nolan takes the race lead. With four minutes to go Arden Motorsport teammates Amrouche and Koh went side by side and it was Koh ahead. Back in the lead goes Josh McLean, but Nolan is trying to close the gap to the current race leader. On the last lap, Green and Iskander went wheel to wheel for P6, it was Green ahead.

Taking the chequered flag for Round 9 was Josh McLean, a second victory of his career. In second came Demitri Nolan, an exceptional drive from the Hillspeed driver who took his first podium of his GB4 career. Rounding up the podium was Luke Hilton taking his third consecutive podium over this race weekend at Donington Park.
