Highlights

This season was not the one Red Bull would have wanted. They struggled to find a competitive driver to line up alongside Max Verstappen, changing drivers early on in the season. However, this does not mean that they had a season without moments to remember. Max Verstappen won 8 races, and after a drought since Imola, his sprint win in Baku really sparked things for the better, not to mention the team welcomed Lily Verstappen-Piquet to the Red Bull family, with Max having his first child. Whilst for the first time since 2020, Verstappen did not take home the championship trophy, finishing second,  the team took home a bronze medal in the Constructors' Championship, salvaging a turbulent season.

Statistics

As mentioned, Red Bull finished third in the 2025 Constructors Championship with 451 points following a driver swap two races into the season. Verstappen was very close to winning a fifth world title but lost out to Norris by two points - Verstappen's total points for the season were 421. Tsunoda, after replacing Lawson, ended the season P17 in the World Drivers Championship with 33 points (some of which were scored for Racing Bulls). In the 2025 season, Verstappen added 8 race wins to his total and secured 18 podium finishes. Tsunoda didn’t many a race win or podium with his highest place finish being P6 at Baku. When it came to DHL Fastest Laps, Verstappen had 3 and Tsunoda had 0.

Struggles

Red Bull had a few struggles this season, one of the most prominent ones being when the driver swap with Lawson and Tsunoda occurred and with the second car not performing as well it was hard for them to try and climb to claim the top spot in the Constructors Championship.

Big News

Midway through the season in July, Christian Horner was made to step down from his role as team principal - this meant promotion for Laurent Mekies who guided the team to P3 in the Constructors. Furthermore, we found out at the end of the season that Yuki Tsunoda will not have an F1 seat for 2026 and the driver line-up for 2026 will feature Max Verstappen partnered with current Racing Bulls driver Isack Hadjar.

Max Verstappen

Verstappen has been with the Red Bull team since 2016, pushing himself to his limits and the 2025 season was no different. He started the season with a podium finish at Albert Park, then finished 4th in China before securing a race win at Suzuka. Finishing the Grand Prix at Sakhir in P6 was not what he would have hoped for but in the following 4 races, he finished in the top 5. He had an unlucky run in Barcelona, finishing in P10 as well as in Hungary where he finished P9. During the season, he had one DNF in Austria following a crash in the opening lap of the race. After the race in Budapest, Verstappen finished on the podium for 9 consecutive races - the last nine of the season - which led to him securing P2 in the World Drivers Championship.

The Second Seat

Lawson was the driver who started in the Red Bull second seat but following his race results in the first two races of the season - DNF in Australia and P12 in China, Red Bull decided to promote Yuki Tsunoda to Racing Bulls ‘sister team.’  However, Tsunoda's time at Red Bull was proven to be nothing if not difficult. Throughout the season, Tsunoda finished a race in the top 10 three times, with his best result being a P6 finish at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku. Similarly to Lawson, he also finds himself out of this seat come next season where Isack Hadjar will partner the Dutch four-time World Champion.
