The Kielder Carlisle Stages Rally, which was due to take place over the 5th and 6th of June 2026 will no longer go ahead, according to the British Rally Championship’s instagram account (@brcrally).

In an announcement made on the morning of Friday 15 of May, the championship’s official account revealed the decision which had been taken by the event organisers, citing a low number of entries as the reason for the cancellation. Event organisers were not expecting these numbers to increase in time for the rally, therefore leaving the event with insufficient competitors, forcing them to cancel.

The Kielder Carlisle Stages rally, which is promoted by the Roger Albert Clark Rally Motor Club, is a two day endurance style event which is fully gravel and has many highly demanding high speed stages throughout. Fans will have been looking forward to seeing how the competitors fared racing over 50 stage miles, and five stages in total.

The BRC instagram account also shared BRC Championship manager Reece Tarren’s response to the news: “We are, of course, incredibly disappointed to hear that the event has been cancelled.”

He went on to add: “We would like to thank the Roger Albert Clark Rally Motor Club for all their efforts in creating what we believed to be a superb event worthy of the BRC calendar. We fully understand and respect their decision and appreciate the early notice to allow our competitors and teams time to make alternative plans.”

This development means that after the 2026 Border Competitions Jim Clark rally on the 22nd of May, the next round of the British Rally Championship will take place on the 7th of August 2026, leaving an 11 week break between the two rallies.
